A MUM has revealed the hacks she wishes she had known before she had children and parents are saying they are genius.

Lauren Mejia posted the video to her Instagram account, motherhood.and.montessori where she regularly posts parenting hacks.

In the caption, Lauren writes: "Not Montessori content but here’s some motherhood content that I thought would be helpful."

The first hack Lauren shares is a DIY teething toy which you can make at home in ten minutes.

She simply takes some clean cloths and puts them in a muffin tray.

Lauren then adds water to the cloths and puts the tray in the freezer for ten minutes.

She says it makes the best teething toy for little ones who are experiencing pain as their teeth come through.

The second hack is essential if your little ones are always losing their puzzle pieces.

Lauren suggests buying some Velcro stickers, which can be found in most stores, and to stick one side on the puzzle piece and one on the puzzle board.

This way the puzzles pieces are stuck to the board when you put them away and they can enjoy their puzzle for longer.

For bumps and bruises, Lauren's genius hack is to put mini marshmallows in a zip-lock bag in the freezer.

The marshmallows stay soft when frozen so it is less harsh than ice and can be moulded into place whilst still providing comfort for children.

Lauren's final hack she shared was to sign up to the Imagination Library, which was founded by Dolly Parton and sends out one book a month to children five or under for free.

However, the scheme does not run everywhere and you can search on their website if they cover your area.

Parents on Instagram loved the genius selection of hacks.

One user wrote: "THE MARSHMALLOWS!! Had no idea!"

Another user commented: "The velcro on the wooden toys!"

A third user responded: "Wow that puzzle one."
